Richard scores Thomas Kretschmann Thriller 'Eichmann'

Due for European theatrical release in April 2008 is director Robert Young’s poignant historical drama based upon the final confession of Adolf Eichmann as his past as the architect of Hitler’s plan for the final solution.

As German superstar Thomas Kretschmann takes the lead portraying one of the most notorious names of all time, Richard uses a blend of atmospheric sound design and haunting melodies to evoke national tragedy and intimately reflect the emotion of one of the darkest periods in history.

Richard Harvey co-founds the Conrad Young Musician of Thailand Awards

On 31st March 2007 the Conrad Bangkok in association with the Royal Over-Seas League were proud to host the first Conrad Young Musician of Thailand Competition, in which 7 talented finalists contended for the King’s Trophy.

The 4 international high profile judges consisted of Richard Harvey; Mr Michael Ma, Head of Strings at the Hong Kong Academy; Mr Chris Craker, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Sony BMG Masterworks, USA; and Mr Albert Tiu, Assistant Professor in the Young Siew Toh Conservatory of Music and Vice President of the Singapore Music Teacher’s Association.

Richard Scores 'Death of a President'.

Most people will have heard the hype surrounding the new Channel 4 commissioned docudrama 'Death of a President'. Richard has produced a stunning score for this controversial film directed by Gabriel Range. The film has won the 'International Critic's Prize' at the Toronto Film Festival and is being shown on UK television during October.

Richard Helps Crack The Da Vinci Code

Richard partnered up with Hans Zimmer to produce a beautiful contribution to the score for the biggest box office hit in history 'The Da Vinci Code'. Richard's contribution features on the Soundtrack to the film as well as in the film itself . It's a wonderful piece for choir and you can have a listen on the iTunes site:

Richard scores Kelly Brook Thriller.

Richard Harvey and Sandy McLelland have collaborated to create this dark and brooding action score. "Three" aka Survival Island, directed by Stewart Raffill, also features Billy Zane and will be released in cinemas nationwide with a quick DVD release to follow.

Granada Television commissions Richard for feature length drama.

"Escape from Colditz" charts the infamous escape attempts of British soldiers from Colditz Castle during World War II. Richard's score beautifully accompanies the love scenes and the battleground violence whilst perfectly capturing the tension of the escape efforts by the prisoners of war.

"The Great Within" is made available from Fireworks Music Ltd.

This CD features the score Richard composed for Francis Gerard's fascinating film about the Imperial Palace in Beijing. For 500 years, from the early days of the Third Ming Ruler, Yong Le, to the final abdication of Puyi, The Last Emperor, the Forbidden City was home to the most powerful men on earth.

The screenings of Luther in Germany have now run their course with nearly three million Germans having been to see it in cinemas across the country, making it one of the most successful domestically produced movies ever.The soundtrack CD continues to do well but sadly is not yet available in the UK. Richard returned from the tour of Chile with Quimantu and John Williams to start work as a performer with the "other" John Williams! He was engaged as a recorder soloist for the score of "Harry Potter and the prisoner of Askaban" and found the whole experience much to his liking.

 

Richard won a "Suphannahong" earlier this year...what is a "one of those?"...one hears you ask...it is of course Thailand's equivalent to the "Oscar".It was awarded for the film "Prom Piram" and he was over in Bangkok to receive it personally in late January.

There will be a new CD release coming up soon. This will feature the score Richard composed for a fascinating dramadoc about the Imperial palace in Beijing. It will be entitled "The Great Within-the story of the forbidden city" and will be released on Altus Records soon.
